About the Google App Engine

The Google App Engine is PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) software that enables users to build scalable web and mobile backend applications on Google’s infrastructure and in any language. The platform allows users to utilize their own language runtimes, frameworks, and third-party libraries, and is designed to support Node.js, Java, Ruby, C#, Go, Python and PHP.

The software allows users to implement their own Docker images and custom software stacks, as well as allow users to move any applications to new platforms by enabling deployment on a container-based system such as Kubernetes on-premise. Additionally, the platform is equipped to manage multiple infrastructure processes including scaling up or down in response to traffic, load balancing, and health-checking procedures.
