About FoundationDB
FoundationDB is an open source online database software solution that turns any type of computer into a flexible database host. Each time a database action is initiated, the program performs an ACID transaction across all available databases.
Because of the flexible nature of the system, users can easily scale processing power by adding new computers to the database architecture instead of scaling up. Meanwhile, users can set watches on certain database portions that notify them of data changes. Lastly, the platform uses load balancing, bursting and heavy load queuing to keep the database’s operations optimized and running.
