About Amazon Elastic Beanstalk

Elastic Beanstalk is a quick and easy way to manage applications in the Amazon Web Services cloud., and is designed to handle all capacity provisioning, load balancing, auto-scaling, and application health monitoring operations. The solution works with various software stacks such as Apache HTTP Server for PHP, IIS 7.5 for .NET, and Apache Tomcat for Java.

The platform provides users with access to built-in CloudWatch monitoring metrics including average CPU utilization, request count and average latency, notifies users of any application health changes via email, and allows users to access server log files without requiring login through the application servers. Additionally, the platform enhances application security by enabling HTTPS protocol on the load balancer, allows users to run additional application components such as memory caching services, and is designed to automatically scale the user’s applications up or down based on each application’s specific need.
